Job Requirements

Job Qualifications
- 6 plus months prep cook or production cook experience in a commercial kitchen
- ServSafe certification or California Food Handler card required within 30 days post-hire
- Ability to accurately utilize kitchen scales, technology and labeling tools in English
- Ability to continuously stand and carry between 11-50 plus pounds
- Must be 18 years of age or older
Job Duties
- Welcomes guests, provides expertise and assistance in the kitchen and deli departments
- Prepares and cooks all kitchen menu items, including staff meals, following recipes and cut specification to Bi-Rite standards
- Maintains menu item availability to create beautiful and bountiful displays
- Assists the deli department with keeping displays neat, clean, accurately labeled, and well-stocked
- Puts away inventory with proper rotation and accurate labeling while handling perishable items safely
- Handles damaged, out-of-date, spoiled, and returned products to department standards
