Job Requirements

  • High school diploma preferred
  • Must be 18 years or older
  • Completion of a satisfactory background check and Live Scan background check
  • Ability to pass a pre-placement physical
  • Ability to pass a reading comprehension test
  • Willingness and availability to work varying hours including nights and weekends

Job Qualifications

  • 3-4 years demonstrated experience in baking production and bakery maintenance
  • Previous experience preparing multiple bakery items for a high volume bakery
  • Knowledge of baking techniques including basic and advanced baking, cake and pastry decoration
  • Ability to measure foodstuffs using standard units
  • Skill in basic arithmetic to adhere to production parameters
  • Ability to assign and lead others in a bakery production setting
  • Knowledge of sanitation and safety procedures
  • Strong bakery skills and understanding of bakery terminology and equipment
  • Ability to read, understand and speak English to perform job duties
  • Time management and organizational skills
  • Ability to prepare complex recipes accurately
  • Ability to train and monitor equipment use
  • Ability to maintain accurate paperwork
  • Ability to meet production timelines and manage fluctuating workload
  • Skill in effective team interaction techniques

Job Duties

  • Provide team leadership to Senior Bakers, Bakers, and Assistant Bakers
  • Assign, motivate and monitor work of bakery team members
  • Prepare complex bakery recipes according to culinary and quality standards
  • Utilize bakery equipment safely and train others in its use
  • Adhere to food handling and sanitation guidelines
  • Follow production timelines to meet delivery schedules
  • Maintain accurate paperwork including temperature logs and production records
  • Assist in the development and testing of new recipes
