Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Minimum 1 year of cooking experience in a commercial kitchen
- Knowledge of kitchen equipment operation and maintenance
- Ability to follow standardized recipes and cooking methods
- Physical ability to lift up to 70 lbs and perform repetitive tasks such as bending and stooping
- Ability to work in hot and damp kitchen environment
- Strong communication skills to understand and relay kitchen orders
- Ability to stand and move for 6-8 hours per shift
- Ability to hear clearly in noisy environments
- Must be able to read and interpret menu checks accurately
Job Qualifications

Job Duties
- Prepare a variety of meats, seafood, poultry, vegetables, and other food items for cooking in broilers, grills, fryers, and other kitchen equipment
- Assume 100% responsibility for quality of products served
- Know and comply consistently with standard portion sizes, cooking methods, quality standards, and kitchen rules, policies, and procedures
- Follow recipe instructions exactly as stated and keep updated on recipe changes
- Ensure proper execution of recipe procedures while maintaining high quality and consistency
- Follow proper plate presentation and garnish setup for all dishes
- Keep entire kitchen clean and maintain stock and set up rotation
- Keep prepared food continuously moving out of the kitchen
- Communicate ticket times with service/kitchen staff and manager
- Complete assigned prep work for stocking and setup of station
- Break down and clean station thoroughly every day
- Requisition products on a timely basis
- Operate and maintain equipment properly
- Clean and sanitize throughout the shift
- Ensure proper rotation of all products and stock products to par, label, day dot, and sign all products
- Keep immediate supervisor informed of problems or significant matters and take prompt corrective action or suggest alternatives
- Perform duties in a timely and effective manner per company policies
- Maintain favorable working relationship with all employees to promote cooperative and harmonious working climate
- Provide a favorable image of the company at all times
- Lift and carry sacks and cases up to 70 lbs up to 20 times per shift
- Frequent bending and stooping
- Work in hot and damp environment
- Work safely around hazards including cuts, burns, slipping, and tripping
- Use hands 99% of the time
- Stand, move, and walk for 6-8 hour shifts
- Hear kitchen, window person, and chef requests amid loud background noise
- Read menu checks accurately
