Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- minimum one year of relevant pastry or baking experience
- food safety certification preferred or must be obtained within 30 days
- ability to read and understand recipes and instructions
- proficiency in knife handling and culinary tools
- capability to work under high temperature and humidity conditions
- ability to lift up to 40 pounds regularly
- must be comfortable working in a noisy shared kitchen space
- flexible schedule to work varying hours including over 40 hours per week
- strong organizational skills
- positive attitude and ability to handle changing priorities
- effective communication skills
- must attend required training and meetings
Job Qualifications
- Culinary or pastry & baking degree or related hospitality training preferred
- at least one year of relevant pastry or baking experience required
- experience within luxury brand markets preferred
- knowledge of food safety and sanitation procedures
- ability to use kitchen equipment and culinary tools proficiently
- basic knowledge of baking production
- effective communication and multitasking skills
- familiarity with Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and POS systems
- ability to work independently and in a team environment
- capability to handle kitchen environment conditions
Job Duties
- Follow recipes to prepare and present desserts, pastries, and breads
- check restaurant par list to ensure adequate prep for shift
- measure and mix ingredients for doughs and batters
- prepare and cook ingredients for fillings and custards
- adjust oven temperatures and controls
- mix ingredients for icings
- decorate cakes and pastries
- complete equipment checklists and report any issues
- rotate food in coolers and freezers to minimize waste
- maintain cleanliness of food prep areas
- communicate needs for goods to kitchen leadership
- read and produce timely food items
- maintain thorough knowledge of menu items
- keep work area neat and comply with sanitation standards
- maintain professional appearance
- comply with safety and security procedures
- attend training and meetings
- perform cross-training as directed
- greet and interact warmly with guests
- perform other assigned duties
