Job Requirements

  • Attention to detail such as knowing weights, measurements, and volumes
  • Strong mathematics skills for problem solving
  • Ability to perform effectively in a high-volume environment
  • Cleanliness and organization skills
  • Ability to follow all food safety and sanitation standards
  • Excellent understanding of various cooking methods, ingredients, equipment, and procedures
  • Accuracy and speed in executing assigned tasks
  • Familiarity with the industry's best practices
  • Availability to work weekends and some holidays
  • Ability to stand for long periods, lift up to 25 pounds, and continuously bend, reach, and twist
  • Must be reliable and dependable
  • Good customer service skills
  • Good communication skills
  • Willingness to work in a team environment

Job Qualifications

  • Must have 1+ year high-volume restaurant experience
  • Must have Food Handlers Certification
  • Proven cooking experience including experience as a Line Chef, Restaurant Cook or Prep Cook
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Hospitality-related kitchen experience preferred
  • Current food handler's care and other certifications as required by federal, state, or local law

Job Duties

  • Prepare food from scratch by following recipes to produce consistent results
  • Must be able to prepare all menu items
  • Set up and stock stations with all necessary supplies
  • Prepare food for service such as chopping vegetables, butchering meat, or preparing sauces
  • Answer, report, and follow executive or sous chef's instructions
  • Clean up the station and take care of leftover food
  • Stock inventory appropriately
  • Ensure that food comes out simultaneously, in high quality and in a timely fashion
  • Comply with nutrition and sanitation regulations and safety standards
  • Maintain a positive and professional approach with co-workers and customers
