Job Requirements
- Ability to read, write, and speak English
- High school graduate or equivalent preferred
- Background checks and drug screening required
- Ability to lift and carry 50 to 75 pounds
- Willingness to work flexible hours including weekends
- Ability to stand and walk intermittently throughout the workday
- Experience in food preparation or culinary field
Job Qualifications
- Minimum of one year food service experience in a healthcare dietary setting preferred
- Minimum of two years working in food and beverage operations preferred
- General knowledge of quantity food preparation and portioned serving
- Ability to read, understand, and follow recipe directions and diet orders
- Ability to work flexible hours including emergency situations
- Patient and tolerant with staff, patients, and family members
- High school graduate or equivalent preferred
- Customer service oriented
- Basic food preparation knowledge
- Knowledge of sanitation and safety practices
- Strong time management skills
Job Duties
- Prepare food in accordance with federal, state, and local standards and regulations
- Follow standardized recipes, portioning, and presentation standards
- Complete and utilize daily production worksheets and waste log sheets
- Monitor temperature of hot and cold foods to ensure safety and quality
- Inspect food products and supplies as needed
- Supervise and assist in storage of supplies and food products
- Notify management of supply or equipment needs and report unsafe conditions
