Job Duties
- Deliver excellent customer service to patients and staff
- adhere to scheduled pickups and deliveries of medications, medical supplies, and documents
- ensure secure handling of medications and compliance with patient privacy (HIPAA)
- maintain temperature-sensitive transport requirements
- accurately document and track all deliveries
- inspect and maintain vehicle cleanliness and safety
- assist with basic pharmacy support tasks during downtime
- communicate effectively with pharmacy, clinical, and administrative staff
- complete pre-trip vehicle safety checklists
- secure loads in lockboxes or locked cargo areas
- check supplies for tamper-evident bags and seals
- verify delivery recipient’s identity and obtain signatures
- maintain chain of custody logs and delivery confirmations
- quarantine packages in the event of temperature excursions and notify pharmacists
- report incidents promptly
- respond appropriately to returns, refusals, or damaged packages
- may work weekends and evenings as required
