Job Requirements
- Bachelor's degree or associate degree with four years experience or high school diploma with six years experience
- Must be a U.S. citizen
- Must speak fluent English
- Bilingual in English and Spanish if required by the contract
- Ability to obtain a favorably adjudicated Tier 2 investigation
- Ability to pass Congressionally Mandated Disclosures for Organizational Conflicts of Interest (OCI) process
- Must have one of the following certifications: AFC, CFP, or ChFC
- Valid driver license
- Must comply with all security and contractual requirements
- Ability to work collaboratively with military staff and leadership
Job Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or a combination of education and work experience
- Accredited Financial Counselor (AFC) certification or Certified Financial Planner (CFP) or Chartered Financial Consultant (ChFC)
- 3+ years of financial counseling experience
- Ability to effectively communicate in English
- Ability to manage virtual counseling platforms
- Strong interpersonal and organizational skills
- Familiarity with military financial programs and protocols
Job Duties
- Provides personal financial counseling and management services directly to service members and their families
- Assists service members in establishing a spending plan for extended absences
- Develops and makes available informational financial materials to service members and families
- Coordinates, publicizes and provides a wide variety of personal financial management classes/workshops across the military lifecycle
- Responds to requests for age-appropriate classes or seminars
- Utilizes virtual counseling or electronic communication methods such as web-based, secure online chat, or video-based communications
- Manages duty to warn situations according to Department of Defense protocol
- Communicates with leadership and participates in supervision and training activities
- Participates in quality improvement committees and other contract activities as assigned
