Job Requirements

  • Minimum of three years of human resources generalist experience
  • Ability to navigate computer systems including Microsoft Office Suite and HRIS systems
  • Fundamental knowledge of Title VII, ADEA, FLSA, ADA, OSHA, and FMLA
  • Adaptable interpersonal skills to communicate effectively with all associates regardless of role
  • Professional proficiency in English language including reading, writing and verbal communication
  • Ability to lift up to 15 pounds regularly
  • Ability to work on-site at the hotel in the North Loop neighborhood of Minneapolis
  • Ability to work in a dog friendly work environment

Job Qualifications

  • Minimum three years of human resources generalist experience
  • Bachelor's degree with an emphasis in hospitality management, human resources, or related field preferred but not required
  • Fundamental knowledge of Title VII, ADEA, FLSA, ADA, OSHA, and FMLA
  • Proficiency with computer systems including Microsoft Office Suite and HRIS systems
  • Adaptable interpersonal skills with effective communication across all associate levels
  • Professional proficiency in English including reading, writing, and verbal communication
  • Spanish language skills a plus
  • Ability to work on-site in a dog-friendly environment

Job Duties

  • Uphold and act as a role model for the company principles of People, Place, and Character embodying values that drive collaboration, intuitive service, and translocal hospitality to guests and co-workers
  • Demonstrate a desire and ability to understand all departments to better partner in business success
  • Ensure People + Culture processes and practices are kept up to date including HRIS systems, administrative responsibilities, recruitment flow, and learning event tracking
  • Assist with employee relations activities as needed
  • Manage associate benefit needs including onboarding, benefits open enrollment, COBRA administration, unemployment claims, and benefit audits
  • Assist with recruitment processes including job requisitions, postings, applicant correspondence, interviewing, orientations, and exit interviews
  • Coordinate People + Culture requests from the Home Office
  • Guide associates on workers' compensation, leave of absence administration, unemployment response, paycheck administration, time and attendance, and handbook interpretation
  • Assist with associate concerns and conduct investigations
  • Communicate to hotel teams via multiple channels ensuring inclusivity through translation when applicable
  • Curate internal communications showcasing benefit offerings and unique perks
  • Play an active role in hotel committees, meetings, activations, including philanthropic, safety, environmental, wellness, and community involvement initiatives
  • Achieve responsibilities without direct supervision making sound decisions with attention to detail and due diligence
  • Ensure adherence to local, state, and federal laws and educate others on regulatory and compliance obligations
  • Assist with facilitation of the Safety Committee and other hotel initiatives
