Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Minimum 1 year experience in a medical or hospital setting
- Preferred insurance and collections experience
- Excellent grammar and communication skills
- Strong customer service skills
- Knowledge of medical terminology
- Ability to type 45 wpm and use 10-key calculator
- Accurate, mature, flexible, and detail-oriented
- Ability to maintain confidentiality
- Proficient in computer, calculator, fax, copier, and telephone use
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Minimum 1 year experience in a medical or hospital setting
- Preferred experience with insurance and over-the-counter collections
- Excellent grammar and communication skills
- Strong customer service skills
- Knowledge of medical terminology preferred
- Ability to maintain confidentiality of medical and financial information
- Ability to type 45 words per minute and use a 10-key calculator
- Pleasant and professional attitude when dealing with patients and staff
Job Duties
- Perform outpatient, emergency room, and clinic patient registrations
- Welcome patients and visitors as the front door receptionist
- Complete all required financial paperwork and verify patient insurance information
- Implement collection efforts including patient and insurance contacts
- Review registration forms for completeness and conduct audits for accuracy
- Assist in billing, collections, and medical record requests
- Provide multi-departmental support within the Revenue Management cycle
