Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • minimum one year experience or training in luxury hotel culinary or pastry department
  • ability to lift at least 30 pounds
  • ability to resolve problems and handle conflict
  • ability to make effective decisions under pressure
  • ability to stand for extended periods
  • clear vision and good hearing
  • report to work in uniform at scheduled times
  • compliance with company safety and security policies
  • ability to work scheduled shifts and overtime as required
  • punctual and reliable attendance

Job Qualifications

  • Certification of culinary or pastry training or apprenticeship
  • pastry or culinary degree preferred
  • food handling and sanitation certificates preferred
  • minimum one year experience or training in a luxury hotel culinary department
  • understanding of the luxury and quality hotel industry
  • high school diploma or equivalent
  • ability to follow recipes and production charts
  • ability to maintain cleanliness and sanitation standards
  • strong teamwork and communication skills
  • ability to work under pressure and in a fast-paced environment
  • knowledge of food safety and handling procedures

Job Duties

  • Prepare food items according to standard recipes and specifications
  • prepare cookies, pies, dough, cakes, mousses, and plated desserts
  • perform prep work for desserts and pastries
  • organize and clean walk-in coolers and freezers
  • store food products properly with covering, labeling, dating, and rotation
  • check expiration dates of perishable food items
  • perform general cleaning tasks using standard hotel cleaning products
  • ensure proper sanitation and maintenance of kitchen equipment
  • prepare meals on time and to quality standards
  • follow food safety handling policies and personal hygiene procedures
  • monitor temperatures of kitchen appliances and food
  • wash and disinfect kitchen area
  • set up and break down workstation
  • monitor quality and portion control
  • follow company policies and report accidents
  • maintain professional appearance and confidentiality
  • communicate clearly and professionally
  • develop positive working relationships and support team goals
  • ensure quality, portion control, and consistency of all pastry items
  • follow production charts and keep records
  • assist with front-line sanitation
  • comply with safety training and certifications
  • ensure proper handling and storage to minimize waste
