Job Requirements

  • Technical, trade, or vocational school diploma
  • At least 2 years of related work experience
  • Ability to safely handle kitchen equipment and tools
  • Ability to comply with food safety and hygiene policies
  • Ability to lift, move, and transport up to 25 pounds
  • Ability to stand, walk, or sit for extended periods
  • Ability to communicate clearly and professionally
  • Willingness to adhere to company policies and safety procedures

Job Qualifications

  • Technical, trade, or vocational school diploma
  • At least 2 years of related work experience
  • No supervisory experience required
  • Familiarity with food safety standards
  • Strong communication skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team

  • Ability to follow recipes and quality standards
  • Basic knowledge of kitchen tools and equipment

Job Duties

  • Prepare breads and pastries including doughs and fillings
  • Test, bake, and decorate baked goods according to requirements
  • Review production sheets to determine daily baked goods needs
  • Prepare and cook food according to recipes, quality standards, presentation and food preparation checklists
  • Maintain kitchen records to comply with food safety programs
  • Report excess food items to chef for daily specials planning
  • Use kitchen tools, equipment, and appliances safely and properly
  • Follow and ensure compliance with food safety and personal hygiene procedures
  • Check appliance and food temperatures and report issues to management
  • Monitor quality of food prepared and portions served throughout workday
  • Assist management with hiring, training, scheduling, evaluating, counseling, disciplining, motivating, and training staff
  • Serve as a role model or mentor within the department
  • Adhere to company policies and safety procedures including reporting accidents and unsafe conditions
  • Ensure professional appearance and maintain confidentiality
  • Communicate clearly and professionally
  • Foster positive work relationships and handle sensitive issues with tact
  • Meet quality expectations
  • Move, lift, transport, push, pull, and place items weighing up to 25 pounds
  • Navigate uneven or slippery surfaces
  • Stretch, bend, twist, stand, sit, or walk for extended periods
  • Perform reasonable additional duties as assigned by supervisors
