Job Duties
- prepare breads and pastries including doughs and fillings
- test, bake and decorate baked goods as required
- review production sheets to determine daily baked food production
- prepare and cook food according to recipes, quality, presentation standards and food preparation checklists
- maintain kitchen records to comply with food safety programs
- inform kitchen management of excess food products for planning daily specials
- safely and properly use tools, equipment and appliances to measure and bake
- follow and ensure compliance with food handling safety policies including personal hygiene
- check and ensure correct appliance and food temperatures and report any issues to management
- monitor the quality of food prepared and portions served throughout the workday
- assist management in hiring, training, scheduling, evaluating, coaching, disciplining, motivating and developing employees
- serve as a role model
- follow all company policies and safety procedures
- report accidents, injuries and unsafe work conditions to management
- complete required safety training and certifications
- maintain clean and professional uniform and appearance
- maintain confidentiality of proprietary information and protect company assets
- communicate clearly and professionally and follow phone protocols
- cultivate and maintain positive working relationships and support team goals
- handle sensitive issues with tact, respect and confidentiality
- comply with expected quality standards
- move, lift, transport or position objects weighing up to 25 pounds without assistance
- work on inclined, uneven or slippery surfaces
- stretch above head and below knees, including bending, twisting, stooping
- stand, sit or walk for prolonged periods
- perform other reasonable job duties as assigned by supervisors
