Job Duties

  • prepare breads and pastries including doughs and fillings
  • test, bake and decorate baked goods as required
  • review production sheets to determine daily baked food production
  • prepare and cook food according to recipes, quality, presentation standards and food preparation checklists
  • maintain kitchen records to comply with food safety programs
  • inform kitchen management of excess food products for planning daily specials
  • safely and properly use tools, equipment and appliances to measure and bake
  • follow and ensure compliance with food handling safety policies including personal hygiene
  • check and ensure correct appliance and food temperatures and report any issues to management
  • monitor the quality of food prepared and portions served throughout the workday
  • assist management in hiring, training, scheduling, evaluating, coaching, disciplining, motivating and developing employees
  • serve as a role model
  • follow all company policies and safety procedures
  • report accidents, injuries and unsafe work conditions to management
  • complete required safety training and certifications
  • maintain clean and professional uniform and appearance
  • maintain confidentiality of proprietary information and protect company assets
  • communicate clearly and professionally and follow phone protocols
  • cultivate and maintain positive working relationships and support team goals
  • handle sensitive issues with tact, respect and confidentiality
  • comply with expected quality standards
  • move, lift, transport or position objects weighing up to 25 pounds without assistance
  • work on inclined, uneven or slippery surfaces
  • stretch above head and below knees, including bending, twisting, stooping
  • stand, sit or walk for prolonged periods
  • perform other reasonable job duties as assigned by supervisors
