Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
  • One to three months related experience and/or training
  • Proven experience as a Pastry Cook or in a similar role
  • Completion of a culinary program with a focus on pastry arts is preferred
  • Strong knowledge of baking techniques, ingredients, and equipment
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks efficiently
  • Excellent attention to detail and presentation skills
  • Strong communication and teamwork abilities
  • Flexible schedule, including availability for evenings, weekends, and holidays

Job Duties

  • Prepare a wide range of desserts, pastries, and baked goods, including cakes, cookies, tarts, and desserts for special occasions
  • Develop new dessert recipes and optimize existing recipes for quality and consistency
  • Ensure all pastries and baked goods are presented attractively and meet quality standards
  • Assist in menu planning for special events, banquets, and member functions
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization in the pastry kitchen, adhering to food safety and sanitation standards
  • Work closely with the culinary team to coordinate production and service schedules
  • Monitor inventory and assist with ordering supplies as needed
  • Train and mentor junior pastry staff, providing guidance on techniques and best practices
  • Stay updated on industry trends and techniques to continually enhance offerings
