Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum of 3 years experience as a pastry chef or similar role
  • Ability to work flexible hours including nights, weekends and holidays
  • Strong knowledge of baking techniques and equipment
  • Compliance with health and safety regulations
  • Effective leadership and team management skills
  • Good communication skills
  • Physical ability to perform job duties
  • Willingness to work in a fast-paced hospitality environment

Job Qualifications

  • Proven experience as a pastry chef in a hospitality environment
  • Strong knowledge of pastry production, techniques and bakery equipment
  • Familiarity with health, safety and sanitation standards
  • Leadership skills with the ability to train and motivate a team
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to manage inventory, purchasing and supplier relationships
  • Culinary degree or relevant certification preferred

Job Duties

  • Knowledge of purchasing, inventory controls, suppliers and equipment
  • Assists in keeping the Pastry team focused on guest satisfaction and desired financial results
  • Ensures food production occurs according to operating and quality standards
  • Maintains and ensures compliance with all Pastry and Culinary policies, standards and procedures
  • Ensures compliance of Company sanitation standards
  • Maintains an effective training and inspection program of all Pastry areas to ensure compliance of Health and Safety procedures and local laws
  • Oversees Stewarding cleaning schedule and manages execution of work in relation to Pastry area
