Job Requirements
- Formal culinary education strongly preferred
- Proven experience as a pastry chef or baker
- Extensive knowledge of baking and pastry-making techniques and equipment
- Strong leadership skills
- Excellent time management abilities
- Ability to communicate effectively and work well in a team
- Willingness to work flexible hours including weekends and evenings
- Knowledge of sanitation and food safety standards
Job Qualifications
- Proven experience as a pastry chef, baker or related role
- Extensive knowledge of baking and pastry-making techniques, ingredients, and equipment
- Exceptional attention to detail and the ability to maintain consistent quality standards
- In-depth knowledge of sanitation principles and food preparation standards
- Strong leadership skills and an ability to provide clear instructions to other members of the pastry staff
- Excellent time management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills and enthusiasm for teamwork
- Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and evenings when necessary

Job Duties
- Create and prepare a diverse range of high-quality bread, pastries, cakes, and desserts
- Develop and execute creative, innovative pastries and desserts to enhance menus and appeal to customers
- Meet with clients to discuss custom-made desserts and pastries for special occasions, such as weddings and birthdays
- Identify staffing needs, and supervise and train new pastry assistants and bakers when necessary
- Schedule culinary team members to plan and coordinate daily production schedules
- Ensure compliance with all health and safety regulations regarding food handling and sanitation
- Maintain inventory of baking ingredients and supplies, and place orders as needed
- Stay updated on industry trends and new techniques in baking, incorporating them into menu development and production
- Maintain a clean and organized bakery area, including equipment, utensils, and workstations
