Job Requirements

  • Minimum high school diploma or equivalent
  • 3-5 years of pastry leadership experience in a luxury hotel or fine dining environment
  • Knowledge of baking and pastry techniques including chocolate and sugar work
  • Proficient in cost control, inventory management, and kitchen computer systems
  • Strong communication and training skills
  • Ability to manage and develop a team
  • Flexibility to work varied shifts including weekends and holidays

Job Qualifications

  • Minimum 3-5 years of progressive pastry leadership experience preferably in luxury hotel or fine dining
  • Strong administrative, organizational, and scheduling skills
  • Experience with inventory, ordering, and food cost control
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and kitchen management software
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with ability to collaborate across departments
  • Proven ability to produce high-quality pastry items quickly under pressure
  • Experience working with local and seasonal ingredients
  • Flexible availability including weekends, holidays, and evenings

Job Duties

  • Hire, train, and supervise the pastry and baking team
  • Develop and execute pastry and bakery menus reflecting seasonality and local ingredients
  • Ensure consistency, quality, and on-brand presentation of all baked goods and desserts
  • Maintain cleanliness and organizational standards in compliance with health and safety regulations
  • Collaborate proactively with the Executive Chef, events team, and all food and beverage departments
  • Manage inventory, ordering, and cost control for pastry and bakery operations
  • Lead and mentor pastry cooks following Hyatt’s Leadership Expectations
  • Attend interdepartmental meetings and contribute to operational planning and innovation
  • Conduct guest-facing pastry classes aligned with the resort’s culinary philosophy
