Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- prior experience in delivery or logistics preferred
- ability to read and comprehend instructions and correspondence
- strong communication skills
- ability to interpret safety rules and operating manuals
- proficiency in basic math including addition, subtraction, multiplication and division
- good reasoning skills and ability to carry out instructions
- ability to maintain accurate delivery logs
- valid driver’s license and clean driving record
Job Duties
- Picks up and delivers parts and equipment to customers, satellite stores, wholesale accounts and vendors
- checks with parts manager, wholesale representative or inventory control after leaving to coordinate last-minute pick-ups or deliveries
- unloads and processes returned "cores"
- verifies invoices match purchase orders for each pick-up
- secures all loads for safe delivery
- verifies that invoices and packing slips match products and quantities being delivered and received
- coordinates delivery route with parts employees
- performs daily delivery routes efficiently to minimize time
- pulls and fills customer orders generated by parts counter and outside sales
- loads and unloads delivery vehicles
- checks payments received with invoices for each delivery
- keeps accurate logs of daily deliveries and pick-ups and requests recipient signatures
- unloads truck nightly and turns in paperwork, payments, returns or undelivered parts
- handles basic truck maintenance including filling gas, checking oil, and ensuring inspections
- completes pre-trip inspections and reports needed repairs
- helps maintain professional appearance of parts department
- assists service and sales departments with transportation
- assists warehouse staff with processing inbound and outbound orders
- helps with stocking and posting orders
- maintains professional appearance
- performs other assigned tasks
