Job Requirements

  • GED or HiSET non-graduate
  • ServSafe Food Handlers certification
  • Ability to work 12-hour shifts on weekends
  • Ability to follow detailed instructions and maintain accurate records
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment
  • Willingness to perform physical tasks in a fast-paced kitchen environment

Job Qualifications

  • Experience as a dishwasher in a healthcare or restaurant setting preferred
  • Knowledge of sanitation techniques preferred
  • Ability to follow food safety practices and maintain compliance with diet orders and allergies
  • Basic understanding of temperature control and quality assurance logging
  • Strong teamwork and independent work skills

Job Duties

  • Perform safe and sanitary food safety and equipment cleaning techniques
  • Use gloves and follow policies for mechanical cleaning of plates, pots, pans, and silverware
  • Assemble trays accurately in compliance with diet orders and food allergies
  • Deliver and retrieve meal carts across hospital units
  • Use conveyor-type dish machine and perform hand washing as required
  • Maintain temperature logs, quality control and quality assurance records in accordance with regulatory standards
  • Clean and sanitize all kitchen equipment, floors, and food preparation areas at shift end
  • Follow quality assurance charts for chemical use and water ratios for sanitizing
  • Work as a team player in a fast-paced environment
  • Work independently with little supervision
  • Perform additional duties such as food prep and special cleaning projects as needed
