Job Requirements

  • BA/BS in any field or AA/AS in any field
  • two years or 4,000 hours of culinary work experience
  • six years or 12,000 hours of culinary/hospitality experience if holding Associate Degree
  • current ServSafe Instructor certification or ability to obtain with minimum score of 90%
  • current ServSafe Food Manager certification or ability to obtain with minimum score of 90%
  • legally authorized to work in the United States at time of hire and maintain work authorization throughout employment

Job Qualifications

  • BA/BS in any field or AA/AS in any field
  • two years or 4,000 hours of culinary work experience (if Associate Degree, 6 years or 12,000 hours of culinary/hospitality experience)
  • current certification level or ability to obtain ServSafe Instructor with minimum score of 90%
  • current certification level or ability to obtain ServSafe Food Manager with minimum score of 90%
  • preferred: Certified Executive Chef
  • preferred: Certified Culinary Educator
  • preferred: Certified Sous Chef with ability to attain further certifications with the American Culinary Federation

Job Duties

  • Provide instruction for assigned classes
  • remain current with industry needs and assure graduate outcomes that meet workplace expectations
  • develop and maintain industry relationships
  • engage in ongoing student learning assessment to determine effectiveness of instruction and curriculum
  • create a classroom/lab environment that is respectful of diversity and demonstrates a commitment to multiculturalism
  • maintain accurate student records and reports as requested by administrative offices
  • identify students needing assistance and refer them to Student Services, collaborate with Student Services and Academic Support Division staff to help students adjust to the learning environment
  • remain current on developments in teaching methods, utilize supportive technology and alternative delivery methods
  • assist in the enforcement of college regulations and report student conduct violations
  • meet Wisconsin Technical College System requirements through the Faculty Quality Assurances System
