Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- six or more months experience coordinating the work of others
- six or more months general office management
- must maintain current CPR and First Aid certifications within 3 months of employment
- valid Colorado driver’s license and acceptable driving record
- ability to work a variety of schedules including weekends and holidays
- ability to exercise tact and discretion in handling confidential personal information
- ability to operate passenger vehicle for occasional transportation within and outside the park
Job Qualifications

- preferred experience working with and coordinating volunteer programs
- preferred experience working with recreation point of sale and registration software for park passes, programs, camping and picnic sites
- proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook
- ability to coordinate work of seasonal staff
- excellent customer service and communication skills
- ability to work independently and as part of a team
- ability to handle multiple tasks with attention to detail
- good organizational skills and flexibility

Job Duties
- Manages public information desk dispensing accurate park information, greeting visitors, and answering questions about local wildlife and park history
- takes high volume reservations, sells camping passes and collects fees for annual and daily park passes, sells merchandise, and completes registrations for programs and events
- prepares revenue deposits and completes all required revenue reporting, assists with daily and month-end reconciliation, processing of purchase orders and invoice payments
- serves as staff expert on point of sale and reservation software programs and provides administrative support to park staff
- maintains visitor center inventory
- answers phones, takes accurate messages and returns calls
- operates base station radio to relay information to staff in the field and serves as park dispatch during emergencies
- oversees new hire processing and paperwork collection
- supervises, trains and schedules variable and volunteer visitor center staff to effectively cover hours of operation
- conducts regular updates to the park website and social media pages to ensure accuracy of information
- develops engaging social media content that highlights departmental initiatives, promotes stewardship of natural resources, and incorporates principles of environmental education to inform and inspire the community
- leads the coordination of the park volunteer program including recruitment, training, scheduling, tracking hours, recognition events, logistical aspects of volunteer events, and serving as the daily point of contact
- manages the special event program by processing requests, coordinating logistics and scheduling, and keeping staff informed
- assists with and leads components of the development, planning and coordination for a variety of park programs and special events
