Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent (GED) required
- 3 months paramedic experience or completion of paramedic internship required
- 1 year paramedic experience in EMS or Fire Department preferred
- EMT-P - Emergency Medical Technician-Paramedic required or Licensed Paramedic
- ACLS - Advanced Cardiac Life Support within 90 days of hire required
- BCLS - Basic Cardiac Life Support prior to providing independent patient care and maintained quarterly required
- PALS - Pediatric Advanced Life Support within 90 days of hire required
- CPI - Crisis Prevention Intervention Training within 60 days of hire required
Job Qualifications

Job Duties
- Administers IV fluid without additives, saline flush, IV antibiotics, all IV medications excluding controlled and RSI medications
- uses ACLS drugs including drips with barcode medication verification during administration
- administers all IM and oral medications excluding controlled drugs
- plans the care of the patient
- completes accurate documentation in the electronic health record
- provides consistent attention to airway, intake, elimination, sleep, rest, mobility and hygiene needs
- applies antiembolic stockings and sequential compression devices
- manages cervical collars
- performs external defibrillation
- applies nasal cannula or oxygen mask
- inserts and removes oral airway
- performs ultrasound-guided peripheral IV access
- draws blood from ports
- performs other duties as assigned by RN
