Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • At least one year of relevant cooking experience
  • Must be at least 18 years old
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
  • Experience with kitchen safety procedures
  • Ability to work overnight 1am to 9:30am
  • Willingness to work in a correctional facility environment

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • At least one year of relevant cooking experience
  • Knowledge of food handling regulations and safety procedures
  • Experience in cafeteria or large volume food production environment preferred
  • Ability to communicate effectively with team members
  • Ability to follow recipes and standard kitchen practices
  • Basic knife skills and cooking methods knowledge

Job Duties

  • Refer to daily prep list at start of each shift for assigned duties and complete opening and closing checklists daily
  • Set up workstation with all needed ingredients and cooking equipment
  • Safely use a variety of kitchen utensils including knives and other items
  • Operate equipment including ovens, stoves, slicers, mixers
  • Comply with portion sizes, cooking methods, quality standards, recipes, policies, and procedures
  • Handle, store, label, and rotate food products properly in accordance with state laws
  • Prep ingredients and maintain sufficient food product levels at line stations
  • Multitask in a high-volume kitchen and adapt to work conditions
  • Perform other related duties as assigned
