Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- At least one year of relevant cooking experience
- Must be at least 18 years old
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
- Experience with kitchen safety procedures
- Ability to work overnight 1am to 9:30am
- Willingness to work in a correctional facility environment
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- At least one year of relevant cooking experience
- Knowledge of food handling regulations and safety procedures
- Experience in cafeteria or large volume food production environment preferred
- Ability to communicate effectively with team members
- Ability to follow recipes and standard kitchen practices
- Basic knife skills and cooking methods knowledge
Job Duties
- Refer to daily prep list at start of each shift for assigned duties and complete opening and closing checklists daily
- Set up workstation with all needed ingredients and cooking equipment
- Safely use a variety of kitchen utensils including knives and other items
- Operate equipment including ovens, stoves, slicers, mixers
- Comply with portion sizes, cooking methods, quality standards, recipes, policies, and procedures
- Handle, store, label, and rotate food products properly in accordance with state laws
- Prep ingredients and maintain sufficient food product levels at line stations
- Multitask in a high-volume kitchen and adapt to work conditions
- Perform other related duties as assigned
