Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • ability to stand, walk, bend, and lift up to 50 lbs

Job Qualifications

  • Completion of an accredited Dental Assistant program preferred
  • bi-annual BLS certification required (CHS can assist with meeting this requirement upon hire)
  • 1 year of prior dental assisting experience preferred
  • ability to adapt to different environments and maintain a positive, team-oriented attitude
  • strong communication and organizational skills
  • knowledge of infection control and sterilization protocols
  • commitment to CHS’s mission, vision, and values

Job Duties

  • Accompany the Outreach Team to provide patient care in community settings such as schools and nursing facilities
  • assist hygienists with delivery of sealants and other preventive procedures
  • support clinical operations in the dental clinic, including chairside assistance during fillings, extractions, and other dental procedures
  • maintain and sterilize equipment following CDC and OSHA guidelines
  • stock and track dental supplies for both clinic and outreach sites
  • enter patient data and maintain accurate records in computer systems
  • provide a positive, professional experience for all patients, especially children and families
  • complete all required trainings through CHS and the Children’s Healthcare Alliance
  • follow all CHS policies, procedures, and safety standards
  • other duties as assigned
