Job Requirements

  • high school diploma or GED
  • minimum 4 years of operations, supervisor or production lead experience in a manufacturing environment
  • availability for 24-hour accountability
  • ability to manage multiple projects and prioritize
  • strong leadership and communication skills
  • ability to develop and maintain rapport with employees at all levels
  • knowledge of food safety and quality standards
  • compliance with federal, state, and company policies
  • capability to lead change initiatives

Job Qualifications

  • high school diploma or GED
  • 4+ years of operations, supervisor, or production lead experience within a manufacturing environment
  • bachelor’s or associate’s degree (nice to have)
  • 5+ years of leadership experience in manufacturing within consumer-packaged goods or food industry (nice to have)
  • 6+ years of manufacturing experience (nice to have)
  • 1+ years bakery experience (nice to have)
  • SAP experience (nice to have)
  • knowledge of OSHA standards, HACCP guidelines, and GMP (nice to have)
  • Six Sigma Green Belt and/or Black Belt certification (nice to have)

Job Duties

  • manages the operations department in a 24/7 facility that produces premium biscuit and baked food products
  • directs the work activities of salaried employees
  • delivers bottom-line business results in employee safety, food safety, product quality, cost management, continuous improvement, change management, and employee development
  • drives attainment of business objectives and facilitates strategy for the operations function
  • actively participates and leads continuous improvement processes
  • identifies improvement opportunities and guides reports to improve results and enhance competitive position
  • develops capabilities and competencies of employees through training, coaching, and mentoring
  • promotes employee engagement, empowerment, and teamwork
  • ensures full compliance with all applicable federal and state laws, regulations, and company policies related to safety, quality, and workplace conduct
  • establishes production standards and develops budgets and cost controls
  • provides guidance for manufacturing process plans
  • coordinates manufacturing activities with other functions and suppliers
  • identifies waste reduction and cost savings opportunities
  • reviews production and operating reports to resolve operational problems
  • develops and implements communication plans to keep management informed
  • provides input to product strategy and R&D
  • trains employees on compliance with policies and regulations
