Job Requirements
- Must be 21 years of age or older
- valid standard driver’s license Class D or above with excellent driving record
- ability to obtain and retain Medical Examiner Card
- minimum 6 months driving and route management experience
- ability to read and speak English to understand highway traffic signs and respond appropriately
- willingness to perform pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections
- physical ability to lift and secure waste containers
- availability to start work at 10 am at 15610 Boyle Ave, Fontana, CA 92337
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- 6+ months experience preferably in driving shred/box trucks and route management
- valid standard driver’s license Class D or above with an excellent driving record
- ability to obtain and retain a valid Medical Examiner Card
- ability to read and speak English sufficiently to understand highway traffic signs and signals and communicate effectively
- strong customer service skills
- knowledge of federal, state, and local regulations regarding waste transportation
Job Duties
- Manage assigned routes ensuring customers’ waste is picked up in a safe, timely, and accurate manner
- pick up and transport waste safely according to all federal, state, and local rules and regulations
- plan daily schedule based on customers’ needs by reviewing daily paperwork such as manifest, route sheets, previous VCR, etc.
- follow routing software route schedule
- prepare and load trucks to service select accounts for the day ensuring enough supplies are added
- unload trucks at various Stericycle and customer sites including secure waste
- ensure customers have packaged and prepared the waste properly before transporting
- provide the highest level of customer service to assigned accounts daily
- secure waste, supplies, and material handling equipment prior to operating vehicle on public highway
- complete assigned paperwork legibly and accurately and return to supervisor
- complete DOT driver log if applicable
- communicate route changes or issues with supervisor or dispatcher
- report problems or maintenance issues promptly
- perform pre-trip and post-trip maintenance on trucks
- use ELD and Geotab to log hours in accordance with DOT guidelines
- perform other duties as needed
