Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Valid driver’s license (minimum Class C)
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Medical Examiner’s Card (MEC)
  • Minimum 3 years of safe driving experience
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 65 lbs
  • Ability to push and pull containers weighing up to 250 lbs (96-gallon totes)
  • Capability to load and unload materials into truck
  • Ability to climb in and out of vehicle and cargo area multiple times per day
  • Ability to walk extended distances
  • Must be insurable under company’s liability insurance policy
  • Able to work an agreed upon standard schedule with additional hours as needed
  • Knowledge ofDOT regulations and compliance
  • Ability to communicate proficiently and maintain focus during physical exertion

Job Qualifications

  • Must have a good driving record within 3 years
  • No accident reported
  • Must have excellent customer service skills with other employees, customers and regulators
  • Must understand how to use computer for data entry
  • Must be able to use software app on mobile phone for manifest documentation
  • Excellent organizational and prioritization skills
  • Quick to adapt to changing business demands
  • Quick to grasp and adapt to new tasks, software and protocols
  • Must meet all applicable DOT and licensing requirements
  • Licensed for vehicle to be driven (min. Class C)
  • Class A or Class B license also acceptable
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a Medical Examiner’s Card (MEC)

Job Duties

  • Collect containers from health care offices
  • Drive vehicle to customer location along determined route collecting material for delivery to designated location
  • Report for and successfully complete all training as required
  • Prepare and report pre and post trip inspections
  • Maintain driver’s hours of service log as required
  • Review and sign manifests and shipping papers
  • Provide customer training (manifesting, packaging, etc)
  • Properly label, load and secure materials for transport
  • Clean, wash and refuel vehicle as needed
  • Other tasks and responsibilities as assigned by management
