Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Valid driver’s license (minimum Class C)
- Ability to obtain and maintain a Medical Examiner’s Card (MEC)
- Minimum 3 years of safe driving experience
- Ability to lift and carry up to 65 lbs
- Ability to push and pull containers weighing up to 250 lbs (96-gallon totes)
- Capability to load and unload materials into truck
- Ability to climb in and out of vehicle and cargo area multiple times per day
- Ability to walk extended distances
- Must be insurable under company’s liability insurance policy
- Able to work an agreed upon standard schedule with additional hours as needed
- Knowledge ofDOT regulations and compliance
- Ability to communicate proficiently and maintain focus during physical exertion
Job Qualifications
- Must have a good driving record within 3 years
- No accident reported
- Must have excellent customer service skills with other employees, customers and regulators
- Must understand how to use computer for data entry
- Must be able to use software app on mobile phone for manifest documentation
- Excellent organizational and prioritization skills
- Quick to adapt to changing business demands
- Quick to grasp and adapt to new tasks, software and protocols
- Must meet all applicable DOT and licensing requirements
- Licensed for vehicle to be driven (min. Class C)
- Class A or Class B license also acceptable
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a Medical Examiner’s Card (MEC)
Job Duties
- Collect containers from health care offices
- Drive vehicle to customer location along determined route collecting material for delivery to designated location
- Report for and successfully complete all training as required
- Prepare and report pre and post trip inspections
- Maintain driver’s hours of service log as required
- Review and sign manifests and shipping papers
- Provide customer training (manifesting, packaging, etc)
- Properly label, load and secure materials for transport
- Clean, wash and refuel vehicle as needed
- Other tasks and responsibilities as assigned by management
