Job Requirements

  • At least 1 year of progressive experience in a hotel or a related field
  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • College coursework in related field helpful
  • Previous supervisory responsibility preferred
  • Ability to exert up to 20 pounds of force occasionally
  • Ability to evaluate and select among alternative courses of action quickly and accurately
  • Ability to work well in stressful, high pressure situations
  • Effective at handling workplace problems including anticipating, preventing, identifying and solving problems
  • Ability to assimilate complex information from disparate sources
  • Ability to work in a self-managed environment
  • Ability to problem solve and troubleshoot guest issues and emergency situations
  • Proficiency in Windows operating systems and company approved spreadsheets and word processing
  • Effective listening skills
  • Ability to maintain composure and objectivity under pressure

Job Qualifications

  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • At least 1 year of progressive experience in a hotel or related field
  • Previous supervisory responsibility preferred
  • College coursework in related field helpful
  • Proficient in Windows operating systems and company-approved spreadsheets and word processing
  • Effective listening, understanding, and communication skills
  • Ability to maintain composure and objectivity under pressure
  • Ability to work independently
  • Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills
  • Knowledge of safety and emergency procedures

Job Duties

  • Approach all encounters with guests and employees in a friendly, service-oriented manner
  • Maintain high standards of personal appearance and grooming
  • Comply at all times with Mid-Continent Hospitality standards and regulations
  • Initiate and complete the End of Day process
  • Run all reports as required for Food and Beverage audit
  • Complete the Night Audit checklist for computer procedures daily
  • Balance the day’s work including movie revenue, telephone postings, valet laundry, and paperwork
  • Maintain cashiering responsibilities as per Front Office procedures
  • Maintain Front Office computer system operation
  • Fulfill all Front Office functions between 11 pm and 7 am
  • Handle and follow through on all guest requests during the shift
  • Follow safety and emergency procedures
  • Maintain proper record keeping such as log books
  • Be familiar with all Mid-Continent Hospitality policies and house rules
  • Complete initial direct bills daily and place on Controller’s desk
  • Maintain radio contact with Security and other employees
  • Have working knowledge of security procedures
  • Prepare and distribute the Daily Flash Report
  • Transfer master or house accounts as necessary
  • Ensure employees are attentive, friendly, helpful and courteous
  • Maintain compliance with all company policies and procedures
  • Perform related duties as assigned by Front Office Manager or management
