Job Requirements

  • one year of general office clerical experience
  • one year of progressively responsible experience
  • good communication skills
  • proficiency with Property Management Systems
  • ability to work flexible hours including weekends and holidays
  • valid driver’s license if required
  • food handling certification if applicable
  • ability to obtain required front desk certification within six months
  • ability to maintain guest safety and privacy

Job Duties

  • Possess a welcoming manner and positive attitude
  • demonstrate effective communication skills
  • professionally interact with guests answering guest questions concerning lodging facilities and amenities
  • provide information about local attractions
  • assist guests with requests including making confirming and cancelling reservations
  • collect payments and present lodging receipts
  • manage check-in and check-out processes
  • verify authorized patrons
  • assign guest rooms and process credit card transactions
  • greet and welcome guests maintaining outstanding guest relations
  • communicate with lodging associates and chain of command about operations and guest issues
  • apply knowledge of standard operating procedures and patron eligibility
  • process reservations within guidelines and provide certificates of non-availability or alternative lodging
  • assist Front Office Manager in handling group reservations
  • reconcile shift transactions ensuring complete balancing
  • resolve guest complaints including adjusting fees and times
  • utilize judgment to assist guests
  • register and assign rooms
  • issue room keys
  • maintain records of occupied rooms and guest accounts
  • operate a multi-line telephone system
  • handle inventory of keys and supplies
  • maintain a clean and safe front desk and lobby
  • properly log assigned master key usage
  • assist in training front desk personnel
  • utilize Property Management System for reservations and authorization
  • manage lost and found processes
  • log trouble calls and relocate guests as needed
  • operate POS for sales recording
  • handle wake-up calls promptly
  • type memos and correspondence
  • manage change fund and daily logs
  • secure records and guest safety deposit boxes
  • generate and print various reports
  • verify accuracy of charges and prepare close bank report
  • set up and clean complimentary breakfast bar
  • assist with laundry facility and supply issuance
  • possess a valid driver’s license for travel between facilities
  • work all shifts including weekends and holidays
  • maintain operations during emergencies
  • obtain required certifications
  • perform other assigned duties
