Job Requirements
- Minimum age 18
 - high school diploma or equivalent
 - completion of company orientation
 - food safety and sanitation training upon hire
 - ability to function in a fast-paced retail environment
 - ability to perform detailed and precise tasks
 - physical ability to reach, lift, stand, walk, bend, stoop, squat, kneel, and carry weight according to department demands
 - strong attention to customer needs
 - ability to work with others in a cooperative team environment

Job Duties
- Provides superior customer service
 - takes orders from customers by telephone or in person
 - answers customer questions regarding products
 - assists them with selections
 - prepares, packages, and merchandises fresh product effectively
 - slices, packages, labels, rotates, and culls products for poor quality
 - assists in technical areas as needed
 - uses suggestive selling techniques and basic product knowledge to meet customer needs and build department sales
 - cleans and sanitizes display cases
 - operates and maintains equipment properly
 - complies with H-E-B food safety and sanitation standards
 - complies with department or store operating procedures
 - records production and shrink to aid in production planning (bakery)
 - takes care of service counter customers (deli)
 - uses ordering system applications (deli)
 - performs inventory management processes as required (deli)
 - ensures catering orders are prepared and ready (deli)
 - performs all sanitation and maintenance tasks for deli slicers
 - serves or packages prepared foods at customer's request
 - educates customers on preparation and reheating instructions
 - prepackages condiments for prepared food items
 - cuts, slices, dices, chops, food in preparation for chef
