Job Qualifications

  • bilingual in Spanish and English preferred at some locations

Job Duties

  • Check in patients, run insurance eligibility, acquire patient financial status, collect co-pays or sliding scale fees as appropriate
  • Deliver excellent customer service by prioritizing patient needs with respect and kindness
  • Assist team members with workload to maintain efficient operations
  • Perform pre-registration and confirmation calls
  • Support patient survey administration
  • Update and verify patient balances and initiate collection plans
  • Register new patients by collecting personal and insurance information and entering data into electronic medical records
  • Reconcile daily cash receipts
  • Schedule appointments for walk-in, follow-up, and phone requests
  • Record patient no-shows and cancellations
  • Provide information on health services and MediCal eligibility
  • Report patient concerns or complaints to supervisors
  • Maintain a safe and welcoming reception area and monitor patient flow
  • Provide community resource information and assist with scheduling of group visits and educational programs
  • Help patients complete required paperwork
  • Answer incoming phone calls and direct them appropriately
  • Make appointments according to policies and route new patients through intake
  • Redirect triage calls to nursing staff
  • Communicate patient needs clearly to clinical staff
  • Assist with resolving prescription delays and route medication questions
  • Participate in ongoing training
  • Meet customer service standards
  • Follow all policies and procedures
