Job Requirements
- High school diploma required
- Experience in insurance verification and medical billing is non-negotiable
- Ability to explain complex insurance information to patients clearly and empathetically
- Strong attention to detail to avoid errors that could cause claim denials
- Familiarity with medical billing software and EMR systems
- Excellent problem-solving skills to resolve billing issues
- Positive attitude and professionalism during challenging financial conversations
- Availability for full-time employment with flexible shifts, including some evenings and weekends
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Experience with insurance verification and medical billing
- Proficient in medical billing software and electronic medical record (EMR) systems
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to explain complex insurance concepts to patients with clarity and empathy
- Detail-oriented with exceptional accuracy in data entry and insurance information verification
- Ability to resolve billing discrepancies and provide problem-solving solutions beneficial to both patients and the clinic
- Prior experience as a medical receptionist, administrative assistant, or customer service role in a medical office setting
Job Duties
- Master insurance verification by meticulously verifying coverage before services are provided to prevent claim denials and maximize revenue capture
- Excel at financial counseling by confidently explaining costs, billing processes, and insurance complexities to patients clearly and empathetically
- Solve billing problems by proactively identifying and resolving insurance discrepancies and billing issues before they impact revenue
- Drive patient satisfaction by delivering exceptional service even during difficult financial conversations to keep patients happy while handling payment matters
- Be the face of AFC by greeting patients with warmth and professionalism, embodying the company's patient-first approach
- Own the front desk flow by processing payments, scheduling appointments, and managing patient check-ins efficiently
- Protect patient information by maintaining organized records and strictly adhering to HIPAA regulations
