Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Six months to one year of route delivery experience preferred
  • Valid driver’s license in good standing
  • Ability to operate a vehicle safely for extended periods
  • Ability to lift, carry, push, or pull items weighing up to 100 pounds
  • Willingness to work the assigned schedule including evenings, weekends, and potential shift differentials
  • Ability to attend mandatory training Monday through Friday from 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM for 1-2 weeks
  • Ability to follow driving regulations and safe operating procedures
  • Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions
  • Ability to handle exposure to blood-borne pathogens appropriately

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Six months to one year of route delivery experience preferred
  • Current and valid driver’s license in good standing
  • Ability to operate motor vehicles for extended periods
  • Knowledge of safe driving procedures and proper handling of blood products
  • Ability to follow complex oral and written instructions
  • Effective oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision
  • Self-motivated and disciplined
  • Ability to establish and maintain cooperative work relationships
  • Proficiency in digital technology and communication tools
  • Basic computer skills including Microsoft Office applications

Job Duties

  • Transport unprocessed and processed blood and blood products, campus mail, supplies, and medical equipment using assigned vehicle
  • Practice safe driving skills and adhere to driving regulations
  • Load and unload vehicles using safe lifting, pushing, and pulling techniques
  • Deliver inventory to designated points within established routes including branches, hospitals, field trip sites, headquarters, and mobile units
  • Maintain accurate logs of all items received and delivered and document daily activities as required
  • Conduct basic safety and readiness checks of assigned vehicle before departure and report any mechanical issues
  • Serve as back-up on-call driver for other shifts or routes when needed
  • Notify supervisor of any concerns, issues, or delays
