Job Requirements
- High school diploma required
- two years hospital or material handling experience required
- one year working with patient care supplies preferred
- ability to learn and operate material handling equipment safely
- adherence to safety and infection control standards
- effective communication skills
- ability to work with minimal supervision
- compliance with ChristianaCare policies
- availability to work 3 PM to 11:30 PM shift
- ability to troubleshoot equipment
- physical ability for handling supplies and equipment
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma
- two years hospital experience or commensurate material handling experience
- one year experience with patient care supplies preferred
- knowledge of supply and equipment use
- familiarity with Code Blue protocols
- understanding of cleaning and decontamination procedures
- knowledge of hospital emergency codes and blood borne pathogens
- skill in oral communication
- ability to operate manual pallet jacks, electronic pallet jacks, tow motor, carts, trams, and computers
- ability to write legibly
- proactive and detail-oriented work ethic
Job Duties
- Deliver supplies and patient care equipment to patient care areas per stat beeper request within twenty minutes
- obtain signed requisition from nursing unit when delivering stat supplies
- order specialty beds from outside vendors and confirm delivery
- notify vendor when beds are no longer needed and ensure removal
- clean, restock, and deliver Code Blue Carts per specifications
- clean patient care equipment according to isolation and department standards
- retrieve broken equipment from nursing units and deliver to Clinical Engineering
- return fixed equipment daily
- troubleshoot broken equipment before delivery
- restock equipment room supplies accurately
- handle supplies to ensure sterility and infection control
- assist patient care staff with supply needs
- maintain a neat equipment storage room
- comply with safety and infection control policies
- report unsafe conditions promptly
- perform other related duties as required
