Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or general education (GED) diploma
  • Five years of formal experience in an Airline Part 121 Carrier or similar safety or analyst role implementing SMS
  • Experience or training in safety investigations, root cause analysis, and human factors precursors identification
  • Experience in analyzing safety data, identifying risk and implementing corrective actions
  • Understanding of federal aviation administration (FAA) SMS regulation
  • Ability to communicate clearly, concisely, logically and coherently at various levels within the organization
  • High level of organization and attention to detail
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Available for occasional overnight travel (20 percent)
  • Must pass a pre-employment drug test
  • Must be legally eligible to work in the country in which the position is located
  • Authorization to work in the US is required. This position is not eligible for visa sponsorship

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Five years of experience in an Airline Part 121 Carrier or similar safety/analyst role implementing SMS
  • Experience or training in safety investigations, root cause analysis and human factors identification
  • Skilled in analyzing safety data and implementing corrective actions
  • Knowledge of FAA SMS regulations
  • Strong communication skills both verbal and written
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to travel occasionally for overnight trips

Job Duties

  • Ensure compliance of JetBlue’s Safety Management System (SMS), Safety Policy, Security Policy and behavioral standards
  • Serve as the primary resource for System Operations Safety Program and regulatory compliance oversight
  • Coordinate System Operations SMS program with Safety Department
  • Facilitate the SOC Risk Working Group & Safety Review Board agenda coordination
  • Manage Risk Module in Aviation Quality Database including risk documentation and mitigation
  • Coordinate Corrective Action Plans with stakeholders for findings and safety observations
  • Conduct safety investigations and root cause analysis in line with SMS policy
  • Oversee confidential safety reporting programs and facilitate Aviation Safety Action Program meetings
  • Lead coordination of IOSA & DoD Gap Analysis, regulatory audits and System Operations Audit Program schedule
  • Review, track, analyze and trend safety reports and data leading continuous improvement efforts
  • Generate reports on operational safety program health and key metrics
  • Participate in safety department meetings and collaborate with leadership
  • Supervise assigned crewmembers and support their development
  • Perform other duties as assigned
