Hurricanes Holdings, LLC is a dynamic entertainment and sports management company that operates the Lenovo Center, a premier multi-purpose arena known for hosting NHL games, concerts, and various large-scale events. With a commitment to providing a safe, enjoyable, and inclusive environment for all guests, the organization employs a diverse and robust Security and Guest Experience Department comprised of approximately 450 part-time staff members. Job Requirements

  • minimum BA/BS degree or equivalent experience
  • 2-4 years in security or event management
  • previous management experience
  • customer service experience
  • experience in sports, entertainment or hospitality
  • strong communication skills

  • organizational skills
  • guest service skills
  • ability to manage diverse personalities

Job Qualifications

  • BA/BS degree or equivalent experience preferred
  • 2-4 years of security and/or event management experience required
  • previous management experience strongly preferred
  • customer service experience preferred
  • experience in sports, entertainment or hospitality preferred
  • strong verbal and written communication skills
  • high emotional intelligence
  • strong time management and prioritization skills
  • experience working with large groups of guests
  • highly organized and resourceful
  • exceptional guest and client service skills
  • ability to work with diverse personalities
  • ability to handle confidential information
  • proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook
  • strong English communication skills
  • experience with ABIMM and 24/7 Event Management Software preferred
  • knowledge of risk mitigation practices
  • ability to pass a criminal background check

Job Duties

  • Schedule staff for events
  • manage staffing deployments and update employee schedules
  • manage the Risk Management Team and oversee incident investigations
  • maintain pre-event safety checklists
  • serve as a cultural ambassador for Security and Guest Experience staff
  • champion rewards and service programs aligned with organizational standards
  • assist with recruiting, hiring, and onboarding of staff
  • document employee incidents and provide counseling
  • assist with daily payroll operations
  • foster a positive and inclusive team environment
  • represent Hurricanes Holdings and Lenovo Center as NHL league contact
  • maintain departmental equipment and uniform inventory
  • serve as event lead on rotating basis
  • manage large crowds during events
  • monitor guest safety during ingress, events, and egress
  • build relationships across organization and serve as departmental lead when required
