Job Requirements
- High school diploma or GED
- At least two years of paid general maintenance experience preferred
- Must be at least 21 years of age
- Valid driver’s license with no restrictions
- Ability to pass criminal background checks
- Ability to travel overnight when required
- Reliable transportation
- Obtain and maintain CPR, First Aid, and Defensive Driving certifications
- Proficient with security and fire system equipment
- Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively
- Basic math skills
- Ability to follow OSHA safety regulations
- Ability to work required shifts and attend meetings
- Physically able to lift up to 100 pounds occasionally and up to 20 pounds frequently
- Comfortable working outdoors and in varying weather conditions
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
- At least two years of paid general maintenance experience
- Valid driver’s license with no restrictions
- Ability to read and interpret maintenance instructions, procedure manuals, and write reports
- Ability to speak effectively and communicate clearly
- Basic math skills including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division
- Ability to apply common sense to carry out instructions and solve standardized problems
- CPR and First Aid certification obtained during orientation
- Defensive driving certification obtained during initial orientation
- Proficient knowledge of Windows or XP operating systems, Microsoft Office, Word, and Excel
- Familiarity with common office machinery such as calculator, telephone, fax, copier
Job Duties
- Responsible to the Director for the management and upkeep of the physical plant
- Maintains and repairs painting, building, installing counters, cabinets, benches, partitions, floors, doors, glass, ceiling tile, floor tile, wall coverings, window shades, blinds, curtain rods, wall fans, and door locks
- Conducts regular landscaping details and maintenance of grounds including mowing, trimming, raking, lawn sprinklers, trees, flowers, and shrubs
- Conducts regular preventive maintenance, notifies supervisor or Director of repairs needing attention, maintains records of routine maintenance
- Complies with all applicable OSHA regulations when conducting maintenance work involving tools, solvents, paints, chemicals, and electrical work
- Maintains working knowledge of all procedures and policies including Physical Plant Manual and facility operations manuals
- Works required shifts and hours, attends all required appointments and meetings on-site and in the community
