Job Requirements
- Nursing degree from an accredited college or university or graduate from an approved LPN program
- Ability to operate oxygen and suction equipment
- Experience in medication administration and IV therapy
- Knowledge of federal, state, and local nursing regulations
- Strong organizational and communication skills
- Proficiency in computer applications
- Ability to work flexible shifts including evenings, nights, and weekends
Job Qualifications
- Nursing degree from an accredited college or university
- Graduate of an approved LPN program
- Proficient in computer use including Microsoft Office, Excel, and PowerPoint
- Excellent organizational and prioritizing skills
- Effective verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to communicate warmly and professionally with patients, family members, and staff
Job Duties
- Operate oxygen equipment including turning on and off, changing cylinder heads, and cleaning or replacing humidifiers
- Operate oral suction machines including cleaning, catheter selection, and storage
- Use manual respirators appropriately
- Locate and use emergency equipment like crash carts
- Operate whirlpool scales and glucose monitors including calibration and cleaning
- Deliver medications by setting up, rotating, charting, ordering, and administration
- Receive drugs from pharmacy following established procedures
- Determine Advance Directive status for patients
- Collect lab specimens and interpret results
- Implement and administer IV therapy
- Apply seizure precautions and administer IV medication during seizures
- Admit, discharge and transfer patients as requested
- Document and bill supplies used
- Maintain effective communication with attending physicians
- Assist Director of Nursing Services with care planning, MDS process, and committee meetings
- Participate in patient screening and selection
- Follow up on consultant recommendations from pharmacy, dietary, and other departments
