Job Requirements

  • Nursing degree from an accredited college or university or graduate from an approved LPN program
  • Ability to operate oxygen and suction equipment
  • Experience in medication administration and IV therapy
  • Knowledge of federal, state, and local nursing regulations
  • Strong organizational and communication skills
  • Proficiency in computer applications
  • Ability to work flexible shifts including evenings, nights, and weekends

Job Qualifications

  • Nursing degree from an accredited college or university
  • Graduate of an approved LPN program
  • Proficient in computer use including Microsoft Office, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Excellent organizational and prioritizing skills
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to communicate warmly and professionally with patients, family members, and staff

Job Duties

  • Operate oxygen equipment including turning on and off, changing cylinder heads, and cleaning or replacing humidifiers
  • Operate oral suction machines including cleaning, catheter selection, and storage
  • Use manual respirators appropriately
  • Locate and use emergency equipment like crash carts
  • Operate whirlpool scales and glucose monitors including calibration and cleaning
  • Deliver medications by setting up, rotating, charting, ordering, and administration
  • Receive drugs from pharmacy following established procedures
  • Determine Advance Directive status for patients
  • Collect lab specimens and interpret results
  • Implement and administer IV therapy
  • Apply seizure precautions and administer IV medication during seizures
  • Admit, discharge and transfer patients as requested
  • Document and bill supplies used
  • Maintain effective communication with attending physicians
  • Assist Director of Nursing Services with care planning, MDS process, and committee meetings
  • Participate in patient screening and selection
  • Follow up on consultant recommendations from pharmacy, dietary, and other departments
