Job Requirements

  • Nursing degree from an accredited college or university or graduate of an approved LPN program
  • Ability to operate oxygen equipment, suction machine, manual respirator, and other emergency medical devices
  • Knowledge of medication delivery and pharmaceutical procedures
  • Proficiency in computer skills, including Microsoft Office applications
  • Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to follow federal, state, and local regulations in nursing care
  • Willingness to assist in care planning and patient screening processes

Job Qualifications

  • Nursing degree from an accredited college or university or graduation from an approved LPN program
  • Proficient in using computers, including Microsoft Office, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Excellent organizational and prioritizing skills
  • Effective and professional verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to communicate warmly and professionally with patients, family members, and visitors
  • Knowledge of procedures related to nursing care and patient directives
  • Ability to collect and interpret lab specimens
  • Experience with medication administration and IV therapy

Job Duties

  • Operate oxygen equipment including turning off and on, changing cylinder heads, cleaning/replacing humidifiers
  • Operate suction machine including cleaning, selection of suction catheters, and storage
  • Use manual respirator
  • Locate and use emergency equipment and supplies such as crash carts
  • Operate whirlpool scales and glucose monitoring devices with calibration and cleaning
  • Deliver medications including set up, rotation, charting, ordering, and administration
  • Receive drugs from pharmacy following established procedures
  • Determine Advance Directive status for patients
  • Collect lab specimens and interpret results
  • Implement and administer IV therapy
  • Apply seizure precautions and administer IV medication during seizures
  • Admit, discharge, and transfer patients as requested
  • Document and bill supplies used
  • Maintain effective communication with attending physicians
  • Assist Director of Nursing Services in coordinating care planning, MDS process, and committee meetings
  • Participate in patient screening and selection
  • Follow up on consultant recommendations such as pharmacy and dietary
