Job Requirements

  • Nursing degree from an accredited college or university or approved LPN program
  • Relevant experience in nursing care and supervision
  • Knowledge of federal, state, and local nursing regulations
  • Competence in operating medical equipment such as oxygen and suction devices
  • Ability to administer medications and perform IV treatments
  • Proficiency in documentation and billing procedures
  • Strong organizational and communication skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary healthcare environment

Job Qualifications

  • Nursing degree from an accredited college or university or graduate of an approved LPN program
  • Proficient in using a computer including Microsoft Office, Excel, and Power Point
  • Excellent organizational and prioritizing skills
  • Effective and professional verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to communicate well with associates, patients, family members, and visitors with a warm, friendly, and approachable demeanor

Job Duties

  • Operate oxygen equipment including turning off and on, changing cylinder heads, cleaning or replacing humidifier as necessary
  • Operate suction machine including cleaning, selecting appropriate catheter, and storage
  • Use manual respirator effectively
  • Locate and use emergency equipment and supplies such as crash cart
  • Operate whirlpool scales and glucose monitoring devices including calibration and cleaning
  • Administer medications including setting up, rotating, charting, ordering, and delivery to patients
  • Receive drugs from pharmacy according to established procedures
  • Determine patient Advance Directive status
  • Collect lab specimens and interpret results
  • Implement and administer IV treatments
  • Provide seizure precautions and administer IV medication during seizures
  • Admit, discharge, and transfer patients as requested
  • Document and bill supplies used
  • Maintain effective communication with attending physicians
  • Assist Director of Nursing Services with care planning, MDS process, and committee meetings
  • Participate in patient screening and selection
  • Assist with follow-up on consultant recommendations such as pharmacy and dietary
