Job Requirements

  • Nursing degree or LPN program graduation
  • Experience directing nursing care and supervising nursing assistants
  • Knowledge of federal, state, and local nursing regulations
  • Ability to operate oxygen equipment and suction machinery
  • Competence in medication delivery and IV administration
  • Strong communication and organizational skills
  • Proficiency in computer applications and documentation

Job Qualifications

  • Nursing degree from an accredited college or university
  • Graduate of an approved LPN program
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office including Excel and PowerPoint
  • Excellent organizational and prioritizing skills
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to communicate warmly and professionally with patients, families, and associates

Job Duties

  • Direct nursing care for patients
  • Supervise day-to-day nursing activities performed by nursing assistants
  • Operate oxygen equipment including maintenance
  • Operate suction machine and manual respirator
  • Manage emergency equipment and supplies
  • Deliver medications including setup, charting, and administration
  • Collect and interpret lab specimens
  • Administer IV and seizure precautions
  • Admit, discharge, and transfer patients
  • Document and bill supplies used
  • Maintain communication with attending physicians
  • Assist in coordinating care planning and committee meetings
  • Participate in patient screening and selection process
  • Follow up on consultant recommendations
