Job Requirements

  • Valid Oregon Food Handlers Card upon hire
  • Previous restaurant line, prep, or sous experience
  • Ability to work on a regular basis according to attendance policies
  • Physical ability to lift and carry up to 100 pounds
  • Must maintain professional appearance and communication
  • Ability to operate kitchen machinery
  • Willingness to assist co-workers and work as part of a team

  • Previous experience in restaurant line cook, prep cook, or sous chef roles
  • Ability to operate kitchen machinery and equipment
  • Valid Oregon Food Handlers Card
  • Strong communication skills
  • Ability to maintain professional appearance and manner
  • Physical ability to lift and carry up to 100 pounds
  • Team player mindset
  • Openness to training for advancement

Job Duties

  • Maximize dining room and room service revenue through consistent quality, uniformity, portion size, and presentation of food
  • Prepare food following recipe cards and production standards per server orders
  • Start food items prepared ahead of time without over-preparing
  • Date and rotate all food containers following Sheraton Hotel standards and maintain proper temperatures for perishables
  • Check inventory pars for shifts, prepare necessary items, and assist in buffet stocking if applicable
  • Return unused food items to storage, cover and date perishables
  • Assist in food cost control and waste management following Sheraton standards
  • Support kitchen, banquet, and room service staff
  • Operate, maintain, and clean kitchen equipment such as deep fryer, broiler, stove, steamer, mixer, slicer, oven, steam table, tilt kettle, waffle iron, and flat top grill
  • Comply with attendance rules and be available to work regularly
  • Perform other job-related duties as assigned
