Job Requirements
- Previous cook experience preferably in a hotel or casual dining restaurant
- ability to stand for extended periods
- ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds
- ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- exposure to high temperatures and kitchen equipment
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- culinary school certification a plus
- minimum one year of experience in a professional kitchen setting
- proficiency in various cooking techniques
- strong understanding of food safety and sanitation practices
- ability to follow recipes accurately and consistently
- excellent knife skills and food preparation techniques
- ability to manage inventory efficiently
- proven ability to work effectively in a team environment
- strong time management skills and ability to work under pressure
- experience in a high-volume kitchen environment preferred
- experience with a variety of cuisines preferred
Job Duties
- Prepare high-quality food items according to established recipes and standards
- maintain a clean and sanitary work environment adhering to all food safety regulations
- accurately manage food inventory minimizing waste and ensuring sufficient supplies
- employ a variety of cooking techniques including grilling, frying, sautéing to prepare diverse menu items
- demonstrate excellent knife skills and attention to detail in food preparation
- work effectively as part of a team collaborating with other kitchen staff
- manage time efficiently to meet deadlines and service demands
