Job Requirements
- Frequent lifting, pushing, pulling, bending, squatting, and stooping
- Constant walking and standing during shifts
- Occasional crawling and climbing
- Ability to lift and carry items weighing 20 to 40 pounds, including lifting trays over the shoulder
- Ability to lift up to 60 pounds
- Willingness to wear uniforms and personal protective equipment
- Ability to work inside kitchen area with exposure to heated equipment, various foods, loud noise, chemicals, and other at-risk conditions
- Exposure to extreme temperature changes
- Adaptability and positive demeanor in a dynamic environment
Job Qualifications
- Two or more years experience as a cook or in a related role
- Validated knowledge of basic principles of food preparation, various cooking methods, and food safety regulations
- Ability to pass a Food Handler certification exam
- Sufficient education or training to read, write, count, and follow verbal and written instructions
- Ability to work quickly and concisely under pressure
- Availability to work holidays and weekends and varying hours based on business volume
Job Duties
- Work effectively with team members to deliver exceptional customer service
- Maintain excellent customer service and positive demeanor towards guests, customers, clients, co-workers
- Cook and prepare a variety of food according to production guidelines and standardized recipes
- Set up workstation with all needed ingredients and equipment
- Prepare ingredients by measuring, weighing, mixing, chopping, trimming, and peeling food items
- Safely use a variety of utensils including knives
- Operate and care for equipment such as ovens, stoves, slicers, mixers, walk-ins
- Bake, roast, broil, steam, and use a variety of cooking methods on meat, vegetables, and other foods
- Maintain a clean and organized work and storage area including sweeping, mopping, washing, scrubbing, polishing kitchen surfaces
- Assist with catering and special events as needed
- Adhere to uniform policy
- Follow Aramark and client companies, local and OSHA safety policies for food safety, sanitation, storage, and disposal
