Job Requirements
- High school graduate or GED
- Six months to one year related experience and/or training
- Equivalent combination of education and experience
- Degree from post-secondary culinary arts training program is desirable
- ServSafe or other food safety management certification helpful
- Knowledge of foodstuffs and food safety
- Good math skills helpful
- Ability to read, count, and write for documentation including weights and measurements
- Ability to communicate and understand directions and instructions in English
- Knowledge of kitchen utensils, tools, and equipment including knife safety and skills
- Manual dexterity essential with skilled finger use
- Ability to taste and smell food using sanitary means
- Able to work under temperature extremes and noisy environments
- Must be able to stand, bend, stoop, reach, crouch, kneel, lift, push and pull
- Ability to lift 50-75 pounds properly and move items up to 100 pounds
- Ability to work varied hours and days per restaurant operations
- Must adhere to established appearance, hygiene, and uniform guidelines
- Ability to comply with company rules and food safety policies as outlined in the Line Cook Manual.

Job Duties
- Inspect and clean food preparation areas including tools, equipment, work surfaces, and serving areas to ensure safe and sanitary food handling practices
- Maintain a clean and sanitized workstation before, throughout, and after shifts
- Follow food safety and sanitation guidelines including proper time and temperature controls, preventing cross-contamination, frequent hand-washing, and hygiene practices
- Prep, stock, and organize work stations at the beginning of each shift
- Remain organized throughout shift to ensure timeliness and accuracy of all food orders
- Cook, prepare, and present menu items according to recipes, portion sizes, and chef's specifications
- Check for superior quality including cooking times, doneness, consistency, and presentation of all food items
- Track and report food waste
- Use proper knife handling techniques to maintain safety
- Prepare a variety of food items using broilers, ovens, grills, fryers, and other kitchen equipment
- Practice food storage by labeling, dating, and rotating products
- Communicate effectively with team members and management to assure smooth service flow
- Exhibit creativity and enthusiasm for food
- Comply with company safety rules and regulations including equipment handling
- Report equipment failures or hazardous conditions immediately
- Attend scheduled employee meetings and perform side duties as assigned
- Work productively with minimal supervision and desire to learn and grow
- Work in a team-oriented environment under pressure while committing to team success.
