Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Previous experience in a fast-paced kitchen environment preferred
  • Ability to stand for extended periods
  • Ability to work flexible hours including evenings, weekends and holidays
  • Ability to obtain a Food Handlers Card within 30 days
  • Ability to obtain California Responsible Beverage Service certification within 60 days
  • Strong communication skills
  • Ability to follow recipes and food safety guidelines
  • Attention to detail and cleanliness

Job Qualifications

  • Ability to effectively communicate verbally with managers, kitchen and dining room personnel and guests
  • Must be able to obtain Food Handlers Card within 30 days of hire
  • Must be able to obtain California Responsible Beverage Service certification within 60 days of hire
  • Very strong organizational skills
  • Ability to maintain professionalism during high volume and stressful situations
  • Ability to be a strong team player and work well with co-workers
  • Prior experience in a fast-paced restaurant performing similar duties

Job Duties

  • Complete opening and closing checklists
  • Refer to Daily Prep List at the start of each shift for assigned duties
  • Use standard recipe card for preparing all products
  • Prepare and cook a variety of meats, seafood, poultry, vegetables and other food items using various kitchen equipment
  • Understand and comply with standard portion sizes, cooking methods, quality standards and kitchen policies
  • Handle, store and rotate products properly according to health and safety standards
  • Maintain a clean and sanitary workstation
  • Cook all food products to appropriate temperatures
  • Clean and wash all used dishes using clean as you go standards
  • Close the kitchen properly and follow closing checklists for kitchen stations
  • Assist others in closing the kitchen
  • Perform other related duties as assigned by the manager-on-duty
