Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Previous experience in a fast-paced kitchen environment preferred
- Ability to stand for extended periods
- Ability to work flexible hours including evenings, weekends and holidays
- Ability to obtain a Food Handlers Card within 30 days
- Ability to obtain California Responsible Beverage Service certification within 60 days
- Strong communication skills
- Ability to follow recipes and food safety guidelines
- Attention to detail and cleanliness
Job Qualifications
- Ability to effectively communicate verbally with managers, kitchen and dining room personnel and guests
- Must be able to obtain Food Handlers Card within 30 days of hire
- Must be able to obtain California Responsible Beverage Service certification within 60 days of hire
- Very strong organizational skills
- Ability to maintain professionalism during high volume and stressful situations
- Ability to be a strong team player and work well with co-workers
- Prior experience in a fast-paced restaurant performing similar duties
Job Duties
- Complete opening and closing checklists
- Refer to Daily Prep List at the start of each shift for assigned duties
- Use standard recipe card for preparing all products
- Prepare and cook a variety of meats, seafood, poultry, vegetables and other food items using various kitchen equipment
- Understand and comply with standard portion sizes, cooking methods, quality standards and kitchen policies
- Handle, store and rotate products properly according to health and safety standards
- Maintain a clean and sanitary workstation
- Cook all food products to appropriate temperatures
- Clean and wash all used dishes using clean as you go standards
- Close the kitchen properly and follow closing checklists for kitchen stations
- Assist others in closing the kitchen
- Perform other related duties as assigned by the manager-on-duty
