Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- six months of supervisory experience or related experience/training preferred
- frequent walking and standing
- frequent bending, stooping and kneeling
- frequent handling of merchandise and equipment such as hand-held scanner, pricing guns, box cutters, merchandise containers, two-wheel dollies and U-boats
- frequent and proper lifting of up to 40 pounds
- occasional lifting of up to 55 pounds
- occasional climbing using ladder
- ability to drive own vehicle to deposit bank money and attend training
- ability to work in fast-paced environment with moderate noise
- exposure to strong scents and fragrances
- occasional exposure to outside weather conditions, wet floor surfaces and household/industrial cleaning solutions
Job Qualifications
- Effective interpersonal and oral communication skills
- understanding of safety policies and practices
- ability to read and follow planogram and merchandise presentation guides
- ability to perform mathematical calculations including addition, subtraction, multiplication, division and percentages
- ability to perform cash register functions
- knowledge of cash, facility and safety control policies and practices
- knowledge of cash handling procedures including cashier accountability and deposit control
Job Duties
- Provide superior customer service to exceed customer expectations
- model product knowledge and selling techniques to enhance customer experience
- maintain a safe, clean and well-organized store environment
- assist in merchandising the store to appeal to customers and retain excitement
- rotate product to create eye-catching displays using company merchandising guidelines
- complete daily and weekly cleaning responsibilities
- ensure store condense and reset standards are consistently maintained
- follow company policies and procedures as outlined
- operate cash register and scanner to process purchases and assist customers
- assist customers in self-checkout at multiple registers
- clean the store including trash removal, dusting, mopping, and restroom maintenance
- open and close the store under direction in the absence of store leaders
- perform additional duties as necessary in leadership absence
