Job Requirements
- Must be at least 18 years old
- Two to three years of experience in a kitchen environment
- Advanced knowledge of food preparation
- Basic math skills
- Written and verbal understanding of English
- Sanitation certificate and/or ServSafe license required
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Physical ability to stand for long periods and lift up to 50 pounds
- Willingness to work overtime when needed
Job Qualifications
- Two to three years of line cooking experience
- Advanced cooking knowledge
- Ability to understand and follow written and verbal instructions in English
- Sanitation certificate or ServSafe license
- Basic math skills
- Ability to supervise kitchen staff in the absence of senior chefs
- Knowledge of food safety and handling procedures
Job Duties
- Carry out the policies of the Bistro Kitchen
- Prepare food items according to specified standards
- Assist in all kitchen production areas
- Maintain proper sanitation in all areas
- Stock and rotate products properly
- Ensure proper use, cleaning and handling of all equipment and products
- Assist in any kitchen area as needed
- Maintain knowledge of sauces, soups and other cooking preparations
- Maintain knowledge of proper meat temperatures
- Supervise the kitchen in the absence of Chef or Sous Chef
- Maintain proper uniform and nametag at all times
- Perform other job-related duties as assigned
- Prior line cooking experience required
