Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- Ability to work evening shift from 2:00 pm to 10:00 pm with alternating weekends
- Ability to operate laundry equipment safely
- Good communication and interpersonal skills
- Physical ability to handle laundry tasks including lifting and standing for extended periods
Job Qualifications
- Previous laundry, housekeeping, or cleaning aide experience in a healthcare or long term care setting preferred
- Ability to work independently and reschedule cleaning activities to meet the needs of residents or nursing staff
- Ability to deal tactfully and effectively with residents, families, visitors, and co-workers
- Ability to read and understand Standard English
- Ability to work with standard cleaning chemicals
Job Duties
- Sort and separate laundry items according to color, fabric type, and care instructions
- Operate and maintain laundry equipment, such as washing machines and dryers
- Load and unload laundry machines, ensuring proper weights and settings are used
- Use appropriate cleaning agents and laundry products to remove stains and odors
- Check and treat items for stains and damages before laundering
- Inspect and fold cleaned laundry items, ensuring they are properly sorted and stored
- Maintain inventory of laundry supplies and inform the supervisor when additional supplies are needed
- Assist with the delivery of clean laundry to the appropriate areas or individuals
- Follow safety procedures and maintain cleanliness in the laundry area
- Collaborate with team members to ensure efficient workflow and excellent service
