Job Requirements
- High school diploma or GED or equivalent combination of education and experience
- ServSafe Level 2 certification
- Minimum 1 year experience in food service
- Knowledge of food safety and health department guidelines
- Experience with large-scale food preparation
- Basic math skills
- Ability to follow oral and written instructions
- Team player
- Manual dexterity
- Ability to work in varying kitchen temperatures
- Stamina for standing and walking long periods
- Ability to work with cleaning chemicals
- Strength to lift 50lbs
- Ability to operate kitchen equipment
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Must be ServSafe Level 2 certified
- 1+ years of experience in food service
- Large scale food production experience preferred
- Working knowledge of food safety requirements and health department guidelines
- Experience and knowledge of large-scale food preparation and use of industrial kitchen equipment
- Basic math skills necessary for recipe conversion of quantities needed for food preparation
- Ability to take oral and written instructions and follow through efficiently
- Must work well in a team environment
- Manual dexterity is necessary to shred, chop, assemble and mix foods
- Ability to withstand a wide range of temperatures in the kitchen
- Stamina to stand and walk on hard flooring for long periods of time
- Ability to work with chemical cleaning agents
- Strength to lift and carry food items or objects weighing up to 50lbs
- Ability to properly operate kitchen equipment is required
Job Duties
- Washing, sanitizing and storing pots and pans, kitchen utensils, cambros and coolers
- Maintains clean, safe and sanitary dish rooms, including sweeping and mopping of the floors and emptying trash bins on a daily basis
- Assists with daily cleaning and sanitation needs within production and VAP areas as needed
- Assists with cleaning and maintenance of all kitchen equipment such as ranges, ovens, steamers, tilting skillets, mixers, and choppers as needed
- Empties trash bins and replenishes cleaning supplies within the kitchen
- Replenish paper and chemical supplies throughout the department as needed including food handling gloves, hairnets, hand soap, alcohol prep pads and cleaning chemicals
- Report inventory order needs to production manager in a timely fashion
- Follows all sanitary and safety guidelines as required by regulatory agencies and Foodlink policy
- Completes daily checklist including equipment temperature logs, receiving logs, cleaning and maintenance checklist
- Assists Kitchen Porter I with inventory and product storage as needed
- Completes all other duties as assigned
- Assists in the daily preparation, assembly and expediting of a variety of foods and meal components including soups, entrees, sandwiches, fruits, vegetables, salads, breads and desserts in large quantities
- Attends mandatory training programs as required
- Cross-trains and assist in various areas of the kitchen as assigned
- Maintains a professional attitude and appearance at all times
- Serves as a point person and acts as role model for Foodlink Career Fellowship participants, always demonstrating professional behavior
- Performs all work-related duties as assigned
